Frequently Asked Questions
Tattoo FAQ
How much does a tattoo hurt?
This is a subjective issue, in that it is different from person to person, and is also location dependent. We generally inform first-timers to expect some level of pain, although we can almost guarantee that it won’t hurt as much as you’re probably thinking it will.
What do I need to do before?
There are a few things you can do in order to prepare for your tattoo sitting. It is recommended that you:
- Do not consume alcohol the night before.
- Have a good meal beforehand.
- And be fully hydrated.
It also really helps to be in a good state of health. Many clients find it handy to bring something sugary with them – a can of fizzy drink, a bag of lollies, etc.
What do I need to do after?
After your tattoo, your artist will explain how to properly care for your fresh ink as it heals. Once you leave the studio, you and you alone are responsible for how your tattoo heals, so listen to what your tattoo artist has to tell you, and follow this advice.
After your tattoo, you may feel drained or a bit wobbly on your feet – if so, ensure you rest and recover before driving or walking. You may need to eat or can experience tiredness afterwards – listen to your body and take care of it. Don’t over-exert yourself.
Can you fix/cover or add to my Tattoo?
Your best bet there is to come and have a chat with one of our friendly staff. Generally we are able to figure out a way to repair or otherwise cover up a pre-existing tattoo. If the tattoo is quite small and light in colour, it will of course be much easier to cover than a big dark one. Rarely is there nothing we can do. Remember that tattoos are permanent, but not as permanent as your mum always told you they were.
We also provide Laser Tattoo Removal, which can help expand your options.
Can you give me a quote for my tattoo?
If you contact us or drop on in with your tattoo idea to discuss, we will try our best to give you a ballpark estimate on price.
However, due to various considerations, an exact quote is not usually possible.
Can you design me a tattoo to be completed by another artist?
Unfortunately we cannot as there are simply not enough hours in the day with our busy schedules, but we thank you for the request.
How do I make an appointment?
Easy! Just contact us through the methods shown on this site, or stop on by to discuss your tattoo idea and make a booking with us. Appointments are dependent on a $50 minimum deposit to secure your booking.
